Origin

The Border Brothers was created by illegal (undocumented) immigrants residing along the United States / Mexico border throughout Texas, New Mexico, California, and Arizona. This group is predominately composed of farm workers, who migrated to Idaho following available work in both agriculture and the dairy industry.

Identifiers

The Border Brothers exhibit very few symbols to denote their gang affiliation. Their tattoos usually display the number 22, the initials BB, XXII, BB 22, or the phrase “Border Brother.” The significance of the number 22 and the Roman numeral XXII is that the number two represents the second letter of the alphabet, B.
